LISE SARFATI

In November 2002, Magnum photographer Lise Sarfati travelled to Calcutta, India with Bianca Jagger to expose the scandal of trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation. They visited programmes run by Sanlaap, a developmental organisation that works towards correction of social imbalances, which present themselves as gender injustice and violence against women and children. Their primary work is focused on protecting women and children from being trafficked for commercial sexual exploitation, sexual abuse and forced prostitution.
